Essential Oils In My Fitness Routine

I am blessed to have this cozy little-light filled nook in my master bedroom.  I have appropriated it as a place to do my workouts.  I love being surrounded by windows and I have all my equipment right at arm’s reach.  I’ve also included a Bluetooth speaker for music and of course, a diffuser for my oils along with my weights, Kettle Bell and mat.  My routine varies but the location is super handy.


Two things I could never live without while working out are water and oils.  I start my diffuser about 5 minutes before I begin.  I also bring my glass water bottle with either lemon, lime or orange oils added.  It is so refreshing and you may not know it, but citrus oils help with digestion, emulsify fats, and purify petrochemical toxins.  In my diffuser I add about 6 drops each of “Fun” and “Fitness” oil blends.


Fun Blend contains: Cedarwood, Spearmint, Myrtle, Lemon, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Spearmint, Tangerine and Nutmeg oils.

Fitness Blend contains: Cypress, Copal Cobaiba, Cistus, Marjoram, Basil, Idaho Blue Spruce, Clary Sage, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, Peppermint, and Balsam Fir oils.

These blends were created to create a feeling of motivation, energy, boldness, and confidence.  It’s exactly what I need in my workout nook.  The thirty minutes I spend caring for myself makes me more purposeful and effective all day long.

For when I push it and get sore, I love to soak in a hot bath with epsom salts infused with either Lavender oil or Stress Away oil.  After I’m all relaxed and clean I come to my mat, and use my foam roller to massage my muscles, and help clear lactic acid from them.
